Leicester City have confirmed the sacking of Steve Cooper as manager after the Foxes dropped to 16th in the table, two points above the relegation zone.

“Leicester City have parted ways with Steve Cooper as first-team manager with immediate effect,” a Leicester statement said.

Cooper took over as manager of the Blues last summer, replacing Enzo Maresca, who left to take charge of Chelsea.

However, their performance this season has been poor, with only two wins from 12 Premier League games.
